Thinking back, it’s amazing how I was able to “sleep” with all that going on. There was around 100 Buddhists in the Shakyamuni Buddha Hall attending this Guan Yin Great Compassion Empowerment Dharma Assembly.
Also, afterwards I was able to more easily go into the lotus leg position. I really should train to hold this position for a long time.
When I went up to share, I first said “南无第三世多杰羌佛.” When I began to say the second “南无,” my mind immediately wanted to say “教尊,” but I changed it to “南无观世音菩萨.” This felt very weird, because we never call 证达教尊师父 “南无证达教尊” or “南无教尊.” Thirdly, I said “感恩教尊师父” very effortlessly—it just rolled off my tongue even though I almost never call her “师父.” Previously, I had thought “Oh, in front of everyone I should say ‘师父,’” to some extent because of peer pressure. This was the first time that, in front of many people, I addressed 证达教尊师父 as “教尊师父.”
